This past week, my school district sent me to the Steve Spangler Science Workshop. He is quite a fascinating scientist whose motto is to make science memorable for the students. He is doing a great job of that, and he has wonderful video podcasts which can be subscribed to on his blog, accessed through youtube, or you can subscribe to his podcasts through itunes.
I think the podcasts are wonderful, and my goal is to use some of them in the classroom. It was interesting to see how many teachers at the conference considered him on of their heroes. It made me think about the heroes my students have. Wouldn’t it be awesome if every hero didn’t hold a microphone, dance, or play with a ball?
